Echoes of Change
By Sandy Davis & Antoine Jaunard
Echoes of Change is an interactive installation combining sound, projection, and a web experience to weave youth voices into a living soundscape of climate urgency. Centering perspectives from frontline, BIPOC, and underrepresented communities, the work invites visitors to step into a space where listening becomes an act of engagement with the climate crisis. The project preseneted by Human Impact Institute and Hosted at New York’s Climate Imaginarium for New York Climate Week 2025.
Within the physical installation, each encounter begins the moment a visitor steps into the space. Their presence triggers the playback of a youth’s voice, speaking directly to them, while a red marker appears on a projected world map to show where that speaker calls home. With every new listener, new voices and markers emerge, until the map becomes a constellation of urgency.
At the culmination of the experience, a recording booth invites visitors to move from listening to speaking, adding their own climate demands to the work’s expanding archive. Beyond the physical space, the project continues as a web and mobile experience: an interactive map where each voice can be heard by traveling across the globe. Over time, Echoes of Change grows into both a living archive and a collective call for action.
